Olga Ayala,

Interim Executive Director

Olga Ayala is an experienced Social Services and Clinic Operations Manager with a passion for social justice and equitable access to health care. She was born and raised in the beautiful mosaic of New York City’s Lower East Side. She studied liberal arts at Syracuse University and Hunter College in New York. Olga is a proud mom, and one of six siblings with whom she maintains close relationships. Olga learned, at an early age, to embrace, acknowledge and respect people from all walks of life. She believes even the smallest act of kindness can be healing.

Olga began her career as a Health Services and Medicaid Eligibility Examiner for Suffolk County, NY, Department of Social Services. Olga and her husband, Tony relocated to California’s East Bay in 2017 to be closer to family and embrace a life change. She joined HealthRIGHT 360’s Tenderloin Health Services, a federally qualified health center in July 2018 as Clinic Operations Manager. Olga brings diverse cultural competency to the Clinic by the Bay family and works to continue the critical importance of advocacy on behalf of marginalized populations, the underserved and uninsured.

Karen Fenton, RN

Karen Fenton, RN

CLINIC MANAGER

Karen has been a registered nurse for 30 years. Her background and experience includes Oncology, Pain Management and Emergency Nursing. She has worked as a Nurse Manager for 14 years at Seton Medical Center; in the Regional Block Suite for 8 years, followed by the Emergency Department for 6 years. She has been with Clinic By the Bay since July 2016.

Iliana Escudero

PATIENT ACCESS COORDINATOR

Born and raised in Mexico City, Iliana moved to San Francisco seven years ago where she got a Bachelors of Science in Physiology with a minor in Holistic Health. Drawn to service and compassion, Iliana volunteered at the clinic for 3 years first as a Spanish interpreter and then as a health coach. In her free time Iliana enjoys learning, making new things, and discovering new cultures.

Dr. David Goldschmid

Dr. David Goldschmid,

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

David brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to our patients. David has practiced emergency medicine, internal medicine and occupational medicine in hospitals throughout the Bay Area and in private practice. Most recently, before working at the Clinic, he served as the Medical Director of Emergency Services at Seton Medical Center.

Jorge Benitez, Food Security Coordinator

jorge benitez, Food security program coordinator

Jorge was raised in the agricultural community of Watsonville, and has always called Northern California home. Drawing from his upbringing and experiences, he developed a personal mission towards ensuring California's Latino communities have access to the highest quality health care, addressing both biological and social aspects of health. Having recently completed his undergraduate course work at UC Davis, Jorge aspires to attain a medical degree and return to his hometown as a family physician. Initially volunteering at CBTB as a Spanish interpreter, Jorge feels privileged to take on the responsibility of the food security program coordinator and be a part of the CBTB family.

Harmony King,

Director of Development

Harmony lives in Oakland with her beloved family and pets. She received an MA in International Relations from San Francisco State University, and a BA in Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz. She spent several years as a nonprofit development manager and consultant, helping organizations around the world grow in order to serve those in need. Harmony was also a doula and an Americorps (Health) Member, which helped inform her interest in health and wellness, and healthcare systems.

Harmony is passionate about access to healthcare and well being. In her role as CBTB's Director of Development, Harmony connects with other passionate stakeholders to secure resources that enable operations. She believes working together is the best way to fill in the gaps of our healthcare system, and finds joy in serving her community.
