As an Intake Volunteer for our Food Pharmacy Program, you will support patients during their visit by helping assess follow-up needs and ensuring continuity of care. Volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming environment while helping connect patients to the resources and care they need.
Note: The role is ONLY available to active volunteers!

Checking in with patients about medication supply, completion of lab work, and identifying whether they need assistance scheduling follow-up appointments
Communicating patient questions and concerns to clinic staff.

At least 18 years of age
Vaccinated for Covid
Can provide proof of a negative TB test within the last 6 months
Can commit to a minimum of 6 consecutive months volunteering (two, four hour shifts per month)
Can commit to in person orientation and trainings at 35 Onondaga Ave, San Francisco
Additional 20 Hours of reception shift experience on top of required reception/EMR training
Comfortable learning basic conversational and speaking Spanish

Understanding and adherence to HIPAA regulations
Strong Communication skills
Ability to maintain professional etiquette
Preferred: Spanish Fluency
Comfortability using interpreting software to communicate with patients who speak a different language
